Evaluation

 Evaluation

There was lots of effects that we used when we was in the dealers office, for example using the effect of the security camera and the point where the music stops which makes it look like it is a real security camera shot. There was props places around the room to make it look like an office. We also used the phone as a prop so we see the name of the person, then later on in a later shot you see the name of the person on the door to indicate he had contacted the person and later on met up with him. There was a lot of light in the film because we wanted to show lots of detail and face expressions with as much light as possible. The image below shows lots of light but because of the shadow of his hat covering his eyes means that his face expressions is easier to see because of the light.

-We used lots of different camera angles for example in the room where the two people make the deal the camera is at a high angle to give the effect of a security camera, also we used a low angle in the image to the left to show confusion on his face after hearing the noise and to see his eyes under his hat.
- We had lots of medium shots and close ups, but especially extreme close up when he looks at the phone which is important so we can see the persons name on the phone. We also used a close up on the briefcase at the end so the audience can have a closer look at the briefcase and see what was inside. We also have lots of long shots so we get to see him walking to a particular location. This is used to make the audience feel like they are in the characters shoes and what view the character has. PICTURE
-There is a fade at the start of the film just after the title so it fades into the film without it dramatically going off the screen.
-We used a few more camera movements than we should, so we should had read the booklet more carefully.
-We used the 180 degree angle especially in the confrontation scene because the camera is always the left of the main man and the right of the dealer, also the camera was the left of the man as he entered the door. We did this so we didn't break the 180 degree rule. We used an establishing shot at the beginning so we know where the character is at the start and so when we are following him we know the locations he is going to. We used match on action at the door where he walks up to the door, and then goes in close to him hand on the handle,PICTURE Also in the office where it jumps to a close up of their hands shaking it looks at the focal shot that the audience need to see.
-We used the eye line match on the briefcase so we see the business man looking down, then the next shot is a close up of the briefcase.
-We used the POV shot when he is walking so it gives the impression of what he is seeing and it helps us to look at the phone as if we are him looking at his phone.
-We used the shot-reverse shot for the conversation so we can see the person speaking who is replying, this helps us to see the side of the person listening and the full face expression of the person who is speaking.
-I have learnt a lot filming and editing, such as always keep the 180 degree rule, and i have also learnt all the different camera angles and lighting needed to give the correct effect and emotion. PICTURE With editing i have learnt how to crop down the film so they fit together. Also i have learnt how to add audio effects and music, which helped me with doing the security camera effect and to add the ticking for the bomb. And finally i learnt how to add a title and rolling cridits.

  1. Jamie,

There are some really nice ideas here but you would really benefit from proof-reading your work after you've completed it. This is not a problem but it is a good habit to get into and will make your points a lot clearer.

Some more screen shots to compliment your points are necessary and will help to back up what you've said and also say why you used the techniques that you did at every opportunity.

    Good start Jamie,
