3 minute wonders

What is a 3 minute wonder?

A 3 minute wonder is a chance for new and unknown film makers to make a short film to show what they are able to do. So they are given 4 chances to make short films for channel 4 at prime time so it is a good opportunity  for producters to see what you can do. The most common 3 minute wonders are factual ones where they tell us a story about a certain someone or something.

I like this 3 minute wonder because people stereotype people with tattoos as dangerous and you should stay away from them. but this 3 minute shows that it doesn't make you a bad person and that she had lots of determination to get where she is today. so this 3 minute wonder is actually good advise for people to follow their dreams and to never give up.

This 3 minute wonder is good for my age group because graffiti is associated with youth art and even criminal damage. But this shows that some graffiti is legal for some people who is good at it. this also shows that it gets people into hobbies and is a good way for people to express their feelings and their art side. This 3 minute wonder also shows you that Graffiti is creative and not just vandalism. This is an observational documentary because it is between the camera man and the person on screen. It is the camera man following the man around.

This 3 minute wonder is very powerful because it is talking about family life and how he has studied how people are when they are with people. This is also good for people who re interested in strange and unique art because even knowing people thought that it was strange and even creepy they still liked it. This is a observational documentary because it is just a camera man following Marcus Lanyon around whilst he is doing his street art. It also has commentary over the videos.

Market research

I have done some research on 2 channels (BBC 1 and channel 4) to see what channels are the best to advertise a documentary on. I researched that channel 4 had 18 hours and 50 minutes worth of documentaries in a week. Which is the equivalent to 11% of the whole show listings. I also found out that BBC 1 has 18.15 hours of worth of documentaries in a week which is also around 11% of the show listings.

  1. Good on secondary research and some market discussion. No primary research present here. Did you do any?
